The pleasure of reading

I'm  not  here to say everyone should read good books, novels and improve your knowledge.Instead I'm here to say what it is like to be reading.Don't say you don't like reading at all.I'm not talking about the books prescribed in our education system.Of course I know it's nothing but a stress.I'm talking about the books which help you find peace and happiness.

There are people who likes to read others experience and personal stories to get comfort and inspiration that they are not alone. Some likes to read on spiritual level and follow the path of god. Some likes crime and thriller while some likes to read romance. It's your choice anyway..If you read a book and didn't find it interesting it simply means you haven't found the right book yet.About half of the books i read falls into fantasy and supernatural category. It allows me to believe in everything and to dream of anything. We all read something or the other everyday whether it may be a tweet, facebook post, posters on the wall or the procedure in the packet of instant noodles. Many of us spend hours searching quotes which either motivates or to which we relate to the most. But read what makes you exiting ,read something which brings you smile, which makes you think and questions your life. There is nothing wrong even if you like reading comics. It actually stimulate your visual sense more intensely than just printed text alone can do. Beside from these try reading some good novels. When we read novels they take us to the world from where they originated. It also increases your vocabulary.

An extract from the hunger games

Once I start reading a book I get so captivated I never want to leave it until I finish. It always gives a lot of pleasure and I cherish it for a lifetime. Those 30 mins of reading during my free time literally does wonders for me.

Whenever you feel angry, confused, nervous, and negative and stress, just open and read any practical books, such as poetry, essays, motivational, investment, business books. You will find and get relief and become positive and energetic.

Reading a good book is the most enjoyable experience one can have.

Happy reading !

Anime is NOT cartoon

                      It's Not Cartoon, It's Anime!

Some people misunderstand anything animated as cartoon. They aren't the same!Let me make it clear from the beginning.what actually is an anime? Animes initially originated from japan whereas cartoons came from Western side. As i googled the word anime i found definitions such as "a japanese style of motion picture animation" or as "style of animation developed in japan".
As i digged into more i found out japan is covered with it's images and they use anime in everyday life.Anime isn't seen as a childish thing over there. It is part of their culture. It is even used in japanese education books, marketing strategies, magazines, movies and books.

Later i even found out what makes it different from the rest of the animation movies or series. To be honest animes have better story lines, mixed emotions like suspense, relief, happiness, sadness, worry,
compassion and doesn't always have to be a happy ending while on the other side cartoons are considered as laughing production and it's mainly focused on entertaining the kids.

Yes, the famous shows like doraemon and pokemon are none other than animes which were mainly created for kids. There are many more animes for teens and adults too.You can take death note as an example. It's a psychological thriller which is about tracking a serial killer with  shinigami (a god of death). Similarly there are much more dark themed and violence subjected animes which isn't neither suitable nor understandable for kids to watch.

Here in the picture below anyone can instantly find out which is anime and which is cartoon...

Your name (Anime movie)

Teen titans go (Cartoon)

As you can see, anime characters are more realistic to humans, has distinct facial expressions.
The episodes of cartoons are usually repeated on television i.e. there is no serial number to an episode of a cartoon,.Anime are usually aired in a series manner like any other normal TV series. That is, each and every episode of anime series is different developing them into continuous stories. This is a very distinct feature of an anime that makes it very different from typical cartoons.

Facial expressions for anime characters are often different form western animation.Anime characters show more detailed emotions than cartoon. For example, embarrasses or stressed characters produce a massive swear-drop.Characters that are shocked or surprised perform a face fault.Angry characters show a "vein" or "stress mark" effect where lines appear on their forehead.

   Emotions in cartoon

Emotions in Anime

Most of the Anime scenes are 3 dimensional when compared to cartoons, which are mostly 2 dimensional, also Anime heavily focuses on the background and atmosphere to make the story more compelling. The scenery and the background of anime makes it more beautiful that sometimes viewers wish to jump and live into it. Other factors like soundtracks, animation quality, dialogues and voice actings are much better in anime.

Anime series- Noragami ( The stray god)

Anime is heavily inspired from Manga, Manga is a Japanese version of comic books, as it is made up of illustrations, graphics, and dialogues.Anime is a hand drawn animation whereas cartoons are computer generated and thus computer animation skills are required more.

Manga comic development

Manga comic VS Anime

So basically video games are animation too but would you call video games like GTA v cartoon? No right?
So what I want to say is that both anime and cartoons are subsets of the set animation. There are some anime which can be called cartoons since they are exaggerated and make you laugh like Shinchan or Doraemon.
So it's wrong to say that anime is japanese cartoon rather its correct to say that anime is a form of media which are generally extracted from a manga or light novels and are animated.

Personal opinion on BTS and K-pop

Into the world of kpop

                                                                                                  music begins where language ends

Have you ever wondered why kpop is getting more popular these days? What makes it different from others and addictive at the same time?
Well, if someone ask me what was the one decision which i have made and never regretted in life..my answer would be simple! Listening to bts songs. To me kpop is all about BTS !

Boy with luv ft.Halsey @Billboards Music Awards 2019
I wasn't into k-pop at all. In fact i was just a girl who loved hyping to one direction and jonas brothers.Recently i thought of listening and giving a try to find out the reason for it's popularity around the world. In the beginning I thought they were some jerks who wear makeup like girls and kinda look all the same. Blame society instead of me!
I was taught pink and makeups are meant for only girls! People says girls are into Korean because of their looks, yes looks matter but there is something more into it.

I watched their most famous songs and was fascinated with their choreography and voices. I quit myself from listening further when i came to know they don't speak English much. I was like "nah! i neither understand nor can learn Korean for them".Truly speaking their music drew me in again. It was at this moment i broke my language barrier. They changed me from saying "I only know one song " to " all their albums were marvelous!".
I was so impressed with their theme and motto of the band- Focusing on the struggle that teenagers face and comforting us that we are not alone. BULLETPROOF !

When i turned on the English subtitle, i was speechless. The whole song was like a poem sang in heavenly voices. All the lyrics were so unique. After listening to so many times i understood what they said in Korean and the English meaning of it..Unknowingly their songs spoke to me.The group is made up of 3 rappers and 4 vocalist ultimately creating a cheerful and successful band.Their vocals took my breath away.I still sit and wonder how can i feel and understand their songs so deeply in a completely unknown language.Like always they had answer to this question too.

This is what RM, the leader of the group said in their documentary series - BTS: Burn the stage

" Different languages, cultures and emotions....
Now people sing our lyrics, dance along to the same beat and we are able to communicate with gesture not words, we have touched their hearts with what we are best at, MUSIC !  "

BTS songs always cheers me up during my hard days as I dance and hype around like an idiot forgetting everything around me.They also made me laugh with their dorky behaviour. I struggled with  anxiety for a long time and their music has taught to love myself and told me that I'm not alone and I need to fight back! They sang not just about Love but all the other emotions which today's singing artist fails to do. Their songs are about love, ego, rage, jamais vu,staying gold, being fake, fear of losing one's passion, rich and poor, living harmony and also about having fun, drinking and partying upbeat songs by comparing them not to the strongest hero Superman but to the weakest hero Anpanman!

Go Go

They center their music around pressure on teenagers, self love and mental health. I think the main reason why they are famous is because they are relatable, they joke around with each other and with us. They love their fans,i mean "Army", like a family and have shared their personal things like loss of loved ones and mental illness/ eating disorder. They have been speaking their minds since their debut. They look inward, instead of singing outward at someone else.

K-pop as a genre is not only about the music, it comprises different things such as their outstanding choreography, cinematic storytelling, eye-catching fashion which makes it exciting and addictive for the fans. For the first time, I realized that I'm not fangirling to handsome cool popular guys but I'm admiring 7 ordinary guys who work really hard to achieve their dreams.
Now i started listening to other k-pop groups and found Blackpink interesting..If you are also a k-pop fan like me especially in India , do check out this website for latest news:  https://www.kpophighindia.com/

Reasons why it sucks being an introvert in India

Social introverts
             It's not a contradiction

I felt like most of the Indians don't even know what it means and even if they knew they think of it as a disease which needs to be cured. Yes, introverts get drained by socializing and recharge by being alone, extroverts are viewed as an extreme opposite to it. They view introverts as an weird species who came from different universe, but don't worry we all live under the same sky! Being an Introvert is not always about having social anxiety or being shy, it is something more than what people know. I have noticed many people around me trying to balance their personality and change into someone they are not.. all because of constant questions and society's expectations. Here are the few things i face on the daily basis :-

1. Always misjudged

Silence is always considered as an act of rudeness and foolishness. People think you have some behavioral issue that you should be send to meet a psychologist! You often come across people passing comments such as "arrogant" and "attitude walla type!". Even after knowing them they again misjudge them as quite, awkward or the shy type but hey...

2. Forced to have lot of friends

Man, kids these days..! They think it's a competition to have the most friends.
We are always advised to make friends with every person we meet. One common misconception about introverts is that they don't like people. While introverts typically do not enjoy a great deal of socializing, they do enjoy having a small group of friends to whom they are particularly close. Instead of having a large social circle of people they know only on a superficial level, introverts prefer to stick to deep, long-lasting relationships marked by a great deal of closeness and intimacy.

we are not anti-social , we're differently social!!

3. Easily becomes a gossip topic

You spice up content for the gossip mongers and Indian aunties and become a topic of discussion for reasons better left unknown to your kind soul.

4. Considered a loner

People have the misconception that an introvert means he has no one in his life, hardly realizing that though those who think so, might be social yet they have no one to call their own.

5. The struggle during family/ social gathering is real!

Avoiding talks with relatives is considered as "cold"and "disrespectful". Smiling and nodding is the only way we get pass them.Usually at such large gatherings I stay with the "most talkative" cousin. The good thing about such people is that they don't necessarily need either a "deep conversation" or "equal amount of dialogues". They are happy doing their monologues but I keep dropping "hmm" or "haan" or a smile after each of their line. Family get-togethers always leaves you exhausted.

Everybody started to tell me to open up, but I couldn't. I was good at details so I would have been assessing everyone behind my silence. I would have brought out their demons in my mind based on observations and not fantasy, even of the highly honoured one's of my family. I was sitting dumb in a corner of the hall while they blabber gibberish and non productive things with each other. And all they think of me is that I am a moron being to oneself, not enjoying life, socially and psychologically immature, a vampire in a human casingSince I didn't respond much they would talk bad in front of me.

6. Extroverts are considered as Superior traits

Indians have the conception that only those who talk can survive. Right from the childhood, i was taught to speak up and express my feelings freely to every person i met and often taught to be more socialized. A child with quite and reserved behavior is considered as abnormal , broken toy who need to be fixed. They force his/her to change as an extrovert but they fail to understand that will only create a world full of speakers without listeners!

Only speakers and out going people are considered as successful in our society. Introverts are marked as useless, cowards to fit in this wicked world, but let me remind you that some of the world’s top inventors who are also introverts. Believed to be the most intelligent people in the world, they prefer to be alone to focus on their craft.Bill Gates, Larry Page (founder of Google), Albert Einstein and Steve Wozniak (co-founder of Apple Computers) are all introverts.

7. Easily fall prey to bullies

Bullies take advantage of our quiet persona–speaking over us, gossiping about us, excluding us, and pushing us around. Some get frustrated because they can’t figure us out. Our silence irritates them. Consequently, they attempt to fill in the blanks and spread rumors. However introverts don't take them seriously and have their own way to handle them.

8.  A myth that introverts hate people

On the contrary, Introverts intensely value the few friends they have. They can count their close friends within one hand. If you are lucky enough for an introvert to consider you as a friend, you probably have a loyal ally for life. Actually introverts carry more love towards the people they treasure the most and once you earn their trust and respect no one can break your relationship!

In the end all i wanna say is.. lot of introverts are concerned because they think they don't fit in. The reason they think is because they compare themselves to extroverts who are a different species. The brains of extroverts and introverts actually handle dopamine differently so who you are in this respect is probably set from birth. So don't waste your life trying to be someone whom you are not. When you learn to understand your personality, and you make it a priority to get the quiet time you need, it becomes a source of strength. You can draw on your introversion to be thoughtful, observant, a good listener, a creative thinker, a beloved friend and lover.  😀💗
